Who Can Use Computer Forensics?
Computer forensics is a method of investigation.  It is a method determining who did something, what they did and how they did it. All of this is done with computers and other pieces of medium that can hold or store media.  The potential for that media to be something that is potentially evidence is there. With that in mind, there is no doubt that there is a real need for a service such as this one today.  So, who uses this type of method for finding evidence?  There are plenty of types of people that use computer forensics to help them in determining what the next move is or in finding the evidence they know is there.  Here are some examples of those that use this type of service.
  • Law enforcement:  with a warrant, they can seize the computer or other device to determine if there is anything on there that can be used as evidence in the crime.  Usually it is used as a tool to answer questions, to find important evidence and even for finger prints.

  • Lawyers in civil disputes:  Here, a computer forensic specialist can be called in to help in determining if there is evidence for cases such as divorce, discrimination or in harassments.  It can be used on the business end as well as a personal level here.
  • You:  Anyone that has a need to use computer forensic specialists can do just that.  They can hire someone to help in finding proof of claims such as sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination or even spousal issues including those for divorce.
