Hard Drive Data Recovery
Probably the most common form of data recovery is hard drive data recovery. A large majority of the population now use computers on a daily basis. They are used in the home, in the office, in most businesses and corporations and even in schools, churches and more.
Just think about all the important data that is stored on the hard drives of these computers! Unfortunately, hard drives get damaged in a multitude of ways.
- Wear and tear, natural use
- Malware such as viruses, Trojans, etc
- Physical damage
- Storms, power surges, electrical problems
Even under normal conditions, most hard drives will fail within 1-10 years. Another thing you might not know is that the faster the hard drive and the smaller computers and laptops continue to get, the more stress and strain is put on your hard drive. They get hot. Dust and dirt collects inside. They can become damaged.
While there are ways to prevent or prolong damage and hard drive failure and also ways to back up your hard drive files, there is also hard drive recovery which is very useful when you have an unexpected loss.
In some cases, you may have physically damaged your computer which often happens with laptops or perhaps there was a natural disaster or some other emergency situation that damaged your computer but your hard drive is still intact. In these cases, the data can be recovered.
Other signs of hard drive failure or data loss may include:
- Memory dumps
- Lost or missing files
- Computer not booting properly
- Hard drive makes buzzing or clicking noises
- You get a blue screen
- You get an error message while booting (such as I/O error)
- Computer crashed and will not reboot
There are also two types of hard drive damage- those that can be fixed with software and those that require physical hard drive repair. Either way, in most cases, your data can be retrieved.
